Join us at Accenture in Manchester as we officially kick-off Women in Tech Week!
You are invited to join us and Accenture at our Women in Tech Week kick-off event as we empower, connect and uplift women in technology.
This event focuses on career stories, group discussions and fostering connections among women in tech to build lasting relationships for the future.
We kick off with a few opening remarks from Dr Vanessa Vallely OBE, Founder of WeAreTechWomen’s Women in Tech week, followed by Andrew Finlayson | Accenture’s North-West Regional Lead and Song Managing Director, and Amanda Newman | Accenture’s North-West Co-Sponsor of Inclusion and Diversity, sharing their career journeys and overcoming challenges, as well as their vision for the future of women in tech, focusing on emerging opportunities in fields like AI, cybersecurity, and sustainable tech.
We will then move into the Connect and Collaborate sessions, where attendees will get hands on by discussing how we can collectively challenge and change the existing narratives that discourage women from pursuing careers in technology. We will also discuss what barriers still exist for women in tech, and what innovative approaches we can take to dismantle them, as well as the role self-advocacy plays in career advancement, and how women in tech can build this skill effectively.
Thereafter, Vanessa will host a panel discussion with:
- Cinny Tsado | Apprentice – Business Analyst, Accenture
- Samia Durrani | Cyber Security Financial Services Lead, Avanade
- Maha Iyer | Principal Product Consultant (Manager), Accenture
- Vanessa Harding | Technology Strategy & Consulting MD, Accenture
who have entered the tech industry through different and unique pathways, followed by a Q&A.
The event will close with networking and drinks.
