Breaking Barriers by Digital Up North: Celebrating Women’s Squiggly Careers in Tech is an inspiring session as part of Women in Tech Week on 17th October 2025 (1pm–2.30pm)
This event celebrates the diverse and non-linear journeys that women take into technology, highlighting how adaptability, curiosity and resilience can shape successful careers in the digital world.
The event features an invited in-person audience of female, female-identifying and non-binary bootcamp graduates, creating a supportive space for shared learning and inspiration. The session facilitated by Monika Sharma features engaging presentations from Laura Richards, Founder, Idea Junkies, and Cindy Lai, Cyber Security Consultant at TSG, who will share their personal journeys of transitioning into tech and navigating ‘squiggly’ career paths. A fireside chat will explore their insights in more depth before closing with hands-on workshops in Data Analytics and Cybersecurity (for in-person attendees only).
